Overview

Introduction + The Problem

The Drexel CHI Design Slam is an annual event that the club holds, where members group up to design something that can solve the prompted problem within one hour. At the 2025 Design Slam, I was placed into 1 of the 4 groups, where I worked alongside 3 other people. The prompt was to create a long term solution that could help those with little to no disposable income to still be able to go out.

The Problem
Goals

Me and my group members Joshua, Mony, and Maayan aimed to solve the problem. We would create visual aids and do research to create a slideshow that would pitch our solution.

Process

As soon as the timer began, I proposed my idea to the group, with them all agreeing to use it. Each group member then worked on developing a different aspect of the idea on a deeper level. I then put together everything in one slideshow.

Development

Solving the Problem

My solution was based off of an app I use regularly called TooGoodToGo, which hosts hundreds of restaurants selling heavily discounted surprise bags of food that would otherwise be thrown out. He believed this same logic could be applied to event tickets, selling seats on discount that would otherwise be empty.

Proposal Slide
Workflow

Since I had come up with the idea, I stepped up to a leadership role in the group. While I was creating the slideshow, I would talk with other group members about more specific details of TickGo! to develop the idea.

Evolution

Discussions with group members were incredibly helpful in development, as each member bounced off of each other and created new aspects that fleshed out the app.

Results

Final Product

The final presentation consisted of the proposal, 4 low fidelity wireframes, and the addressing of logistical considerations. Out of 4 groups, TickGo! won the competition and the presentation/pitch stand out award.

Reflection

I am very happy with how the project went. I’ve debated continuing the development of TickGo! as I believe the group and I were truly able to develop this idea into something great in such a short amount of time.
