Bricklink Redesign
Solo Project
Role: UX/UI Designer, Researcher
Time: 6 months
Tools: Figma, Google Sheets
Overview
Introduction + The Problem
Bricklink is a site designed exclusively for LEGO resale. It is popular among collectors, myself included. The site has a reliable user base, but the outdated UI is overwhelming for both returning and new visitors.

Goals
- Rework interface to be more user friendly.
- Maintain the current appeal.
- Make sure not to neglect loyal customers.
Process
Because I’m a user of the site, I made sure to check in with peers and professors before finalizing large changes. All the work done on the site is my own, but user tests and feedback were very important in achieving my goals for this project.

Development
Solving the Problem
With this being my first website redesign, I was introduced to many conventional design choices along the way. These conventions worked quite well when applied to Bricklink, bringing the site one step closer to being more user friendly.
Workflow
I made sure to take advice from my professors and peers. After independently working to refine a low fidelity wireframe to my own liking each week, I would review the page with a professor seeking advice, refining it between each week. This would repeat for some weeks, until both parties were satisfied, at which point I checked in with my friends. I would then take all of this feedback and make my final adjustments before reviewing with his professor one last time before finalizing the design.
Evolution
This project spanned several months. In this time, I grew much more experienced in the world of web design. Some of my biggest changes are actually the most subtle, as I learned where small adjustments can make a world of difference in usability.
Results
Final Product
My new design of Bricklink fixes issues that have gone unresolved for years. I also managed to give the site a facelift that builds a consistent design language between different pages.
Reflection
I am quite pleased with how the project turned out. My redesign went through many revisions, requiring many different angles and creative methods of thinking, which I believe helped me improve as a designer.
